Why do I need a Will?
A Will is an (important) legal document that ensures your assets are distributed according to your personal wishes. Without a Will, the courts will decide (in accordance with the law) what happens to your property, which may not be in accordance with your wishes.
What happens if there is no Will?
Your family could face a lengthy legal process, costly litigation and unnecessary family strife, affecting the relationships of (family) loved ones, assets not being distributed in accordance with your wishes, and even leading to a loss of wealth.
Why do I need Estate Management Planning?
With legal documents such as Power of Attorney (and) Healthcare Directive, you can (appoint a trusted person) to ensure that the trusted person will make the right financial, legal and medical decisions (decisions) for you in the event that you lose (conscious or decision-making) capacity.
Benefits of planning ahead
Avoid misdistribution of your estate
Ensure (emergency) that your affairs are managed by someone you can trust in the event of an unforeseen situation
Risk warning
If you lose (consciousness or decision-making) capacity, there may be no one to take care of your estate and medical needs
Medical decisions may be made by people who are not (aware of) familiar with your wishes
